The Pegasus Project North America Itinerary

Monday May 2nd, 2011,

MICHIGAN: Have a great big get-together with all the colleagues and friends the day before.
Shave your face completely for the first time in years as part of the three month beard-growth experiment. Pack up bounce!

OHIO: Try not to let the plain, straight roads of central Ohio bore you to death as you make your way south. Visit the Rock House cave and the Old Man & Ash Cave at Hocking Hills Ohio State Forrest.

WEST VIRGINIA: Try to find a legit climber with proper gear among the hippies and go vertical at the New River Gorge. Maybe even catch some jumpers at the NRG Bridge. Loose yourself in the Friars Hole Cave System and the Organ (Greenbrier) Cave System .

KENTUCKY: Climb at the familiar Red River Gorge, meet with the crew from Detroit, hike, swim and test out your new street luge, (avoid “testing out the leather gear”) trying not to get arrested in the mean time. Explore the Martin Ridge System Mammoth Cave.

TENNESEE: Visit the Grassy Cove Saltpeter Cave and ponder why you like caves so much.
Check out the epic Appalachian Trail. Ride the famous motorcycle road, Trail of the Dragon at Deals Gap and Cherohala Skyway, taking a quick detour Bald River Falls.

ALABAMA: Visit the Russell Cave National Monument.

GEORGIA: Participate in the Warrior Dash, Mountain City Georgia. Get dirty at the Okefenokee Swamp.

FLORIDA: Ditch the helmet and ride the coast to Daytona Beach, sweat like a maniac continuing through Orlando and Tampa north to Tallahassee.
Swim with the manatees in the Crystal River.
Snorkel at Destin

TEXAS: Have fun Texas style in Houston. Deep water solo Cat Hollow on Lake Travis near Austin: Cliff Dive at Pace Bends Park on Lake Travis.

NEW MEXICO: Explore the Carlsbad Caverns National Park.

TEXAS: Climb the famous Hueco Tanks near El Passo Texas.

NEW MEXICO: Visit Bandelier National Monument. Ride up to Albuquerque and Santa Fe stopping at Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument.

ARIZONA: Ride the deserts to Navajo.
Visit friends in Phoenix and drag them along to yet again show a stranger the Grand Canyon. If they don’t show enough enthusiasm, take them cliff diving at Saguaro and Canyon lakes. Spend some time exploring the amazing Antelope Canyon near Page. Skinny Dip in the Havasupi and Mooney Waterfalls near Sumai. Kayak Lake Powell if you find a Kayak. Sneak to the rim of the Meteor Crater near Winslow. Play with nigh time photography at the Painted Desert, Petrifield Forrest National Park.

UTAH: Ride the amazing Valley of the Gods and Moki Dugway through the Monument Valley, towards the Canyonlands National Park and on to the
Moab, hooking up with crazy off-roaders testing their limits at Mickey’s Hot tub and at the Lion’s Back. Find some family and take a typical tourist photo at the Rainbow Bridge National Monumnet. Arch out at Arches National Park. Castle Valley, climb Castleton Tower if you find someone with gear. Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument at Capital Reef National Park.

Zion National Park – the wave, the subway, hike the zion narrows, buckshin gulch. Drop a Benjamin in Las Vegas playing Texas hold-em even though you shouldn’t.
Visit the Hoover Dam, why the heck not.

Route 66 near Laughlin, a must.

CALIFORNIA: Go fast on the dry Ivanpah Lake bed.
Ride the Epic Mojave Trail, and visit the insane lava tube. Play about at the Joshua Tree National Park. SoCal baby! San Diego, Laguna, Newport and Huntington Beaches. Party it up with the UC friends in LA, play a little at the Tempest Freerunning Academy, and try to see if that buff black guy on rolerblades in a speedo is still juggling shiny chrome balls on Venice Beach. Find a ride to the Santa Cruz Island and swim in the Painted Cave. Join the bikers at Mulholland highway and continue the fun in Santa Barbara and Bakersfield. Be amazed at Sequoia National Park. Ride through Sao Luis Obispo and hit the Pacific coast looking for good surf. Love the curves of the beautifull Big Sur. Climb at the Pinnacles National Monument. Explore San Francisco and tour The Rock Prison. See the frineds in davis on the way to Yosemite National Park. Hike the half dome and meet some climbing buddies at camp 4.

Take a butt-load of photos in Bodie State Historic Park ghost town. Mountain bike the Lake Tahoe rim trail. Be amazed in the Redwoods National Park and hook east towards the Lava Beds National Monument.

OREGON: Get wet at the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area Bridalveil Falls.
Jump off of the cliff for fun at Estacada.

WASHINGTON: Join in on the gravity madness at the IGSA Street Luge and Downhill Skate Board Championship on the Maryhill Loops Road near Goldendale, June 28th. – July 3rd.
Live your childhood dream and beg the owner to let you in the incredible, magical Redwood Tree House. Cliff diving Sunset Falls in Snohomish County.

CANADA: See why people love Vancouver. Then understand why people love the Canadian Rockies at Banff National Park.

IDAHO: Survive the tough Tour of Idaho for the week of Dual-sport perfection away from civilization..

WYOMING: Hook east to Yellowstone National Park, do and see what should be done and seen.

Continue East to the apply named Devil’s Tower on your way to see an old friend in Cheyenne.

COLORADO: Visit friends in Denver and try not to regret not having more time to explore.

NEBRASKA: Fight boredom of riding through the plain towards Omaha. Perhaps go shoot guns or whatever gets done in Nebraska.

IDAHO Ride along with the road bike racers of the famous RAGBRAI through Iowa.

ILLINOIS Say hi to wonderful Chicago once more.

MICHIGAN Return home to happy friends and a relieved mother exhausted but exploding with joy. Sleep a few days, find a place to live at the University and then get organized before the semester begins again.
